Surah Taha Ayat 132 Translation Tafseer

Para 16 - قَالَ اَلَمْ

سورة طه

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

20.132

وَ اْمُرْ اَهْلَكَ بِالصَّلٰوةِ وَ اصْطَبِرْ عَلَیْهَاؕ-لَا نَسْــٴَـلُكَ رِزْقًاؕ-نَحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَؕ-وَ الْعَاقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوٰى(132)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

And command your household to pray and be steadfast in prayer yourself. [1] We do not seek sustenance from you. Rather, We grant you sustenance. And the good outcome is for piety.

Commentary

Sayyiduna Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ states the following: When this verse was revealed, the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم went to the door of Sayyiduna ʿAlī رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ for eight months at the time of the Fajr prayer and would say, “اَلصَّلاۃُ رَحِمَکُمُ اللّٰہُ ،إِنَّمَا یُرِ یدُ اللَّہُ لِیُذْہِبَ عَنْکُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَہْلَ الْبَیْتِ وَیُطَہِّرَکُمْ تَطْہِیرًا”. (Ibn ‘Asakir, vol. 42, p. 136) The address mentioned in the verse is directed towards the nation of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم too, and every member of the nation is commanded to order his family members to offer the prayer and to remain steadfast upon it himself.
